In terms of quality, the Mantikor is now our best short pimple rubber – in this respect, the Mantikor is also superior to the more expensive SpinLord Wyvern and almost all rubbers from other manufacturers anyway.

However, due to the innovative bonding of the top rubber and sponge, the overall playing feel is much harder than one would expect based on the sponge.
Overall, the Manticore is almost as fast as the Waran. It’s also more versatile and can generate more spin, even though it’s far from a spin-maximizing short pimple like the SpinLord Degu. Its strengths lie primarily in precise and powerful counterattacks and blocks with hard finishing strokes.
The Manticore is also more dangerous to the opponent than the Monitor, but is still very easy to control. However, its disruptive effect doesn’t reach the levels of the most dangerous short pimples. The SpinLord Rhinoceros is significantly more dangerous, as are our medium-length pimples like the Boar, Summit Storm, and Cheetah.
A special feature of the Mantikor is its extremely high resistance to incoming rotation, which has been further enhanced by the innovative bonding of the topsheet and sponge. Furthermore, the optimal hitting zone has been enlarged.
The SpinLord Mantikor is a pleasantly light rubber (weight uncut in 2.0 mm only about 50 g!).
The studs are extremely durable; stud breakage is virtually impossible with the Manticore.
The Manticore isn’t a specialized rubber like the Summit Storm or the Minotaur, but rather a mass-market rubber. Players who have previously played rubbers like Waran, Friendship 802 SP, Wyvern, etc. will certainly be able to get along with the Manticore without much adjustment and, in many cases, will even play better than before.
